Mother Machine - Scorched Sands Biome

This level was a vertical slice/proof-of-concept for a future biome we were planning to build for Mother Machine.

We wanted to push the new biome into a more bright and saturated direction to serve as a massive contrast to our other biomes which had felt fairly samey, dull and dominated by gray or brownish colors.

This vertical-slice's level design showcases the value of having clear and defined background geometry, as well as more large/open areas that contrast with exceptionally narrow corridors to offer the player a more diverse and immersive experience.

Unfortunately, work on Mother Machine was halted shortly after.

I handled the level design, environment materials, art blockout, lighting, and the creation of some 3d assets for the vertical slice.
